Meet Jill Dilibero. As a social media strategist at Brafton, she’s an expert at crafting strategies designed to fuel her clients’ social presence.

In Oct. 2009, Jill began her Brafton career as news and content writer on the LifTED desk. After enrolling in an MBA program at Simmons College last year, she wanted a well-rounded understanding of marketing and Brafton’s social media department offered the perfect opportunity. Jill admits that a career shift wasn’t on her radar when she started as a writer, but once she decided it was something that she was interested in, Brafton was there to help her transition into a role where she’d gain the most hands-on experience.

Now a social media specialist, Jill says her favorite aspect of the position is how it’s strengthened her understanding of web analytics to build audience- and network-specific strategies.

Her team values the high-caliber social content she delivers, and she’s proven a strong consultant – even for social skeptics in our midst. “As a strategist on our team, Jill is proactive all the time with new clients. She’s a great consultant for those who aren’t familiar with social media for business,” Social Media Manager Kristen Fritz said.

Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Cher HorowitzTo be honest? Cher Horowitz (from Clueless) – that’s not a career, though. I would just tell people I wanted whatever her job was in order to get her closet. When I was in high school I found that I really liked writing so I went with journalism.

Q: What do you think is the most important quality for professional success?
I think you need to be really driven and not just wait around for instruction. If you don’t know how to do something, learn. At the same time, don’t act like you have all the answers and steer people in the wrong direction.

Q: What do you value most in a job?
For right now? Flexibility. Going to school part-time can be really draining on its own, in addition to working full-time. Being able to work from home or create my own hours on days when I need to leave early is a real plus, and I appreciate that Brafton gives me that opportunity.

Q: What is your most treasured possession?
I have a cameo ring that I got when I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I originally had a fake one that I loved and it broke after two weeks. My dad bought me a real one from the Ponte Vecchio when he came to visit, and even though it’s now a bit too big for my fingers, I’ve bent it into shape and never take it off.

Q: What are some of your favorite brands on social?
Club Monaco is probably my absolute favorite on Twitter – I love its branded style chats and their customer service is unmatched. If you want a gorgeous Instagram to gawk at, I highly recommend J. Crew.

Q: What personality trait are you always trying to improve?

Being frazzled. It’s something I’ve been trying to work on forever and while I think it may be getting better, it still needs some work.

Q: Which day of the work week are you the most productive?
Oddly, Thursdays. I think it’s because I always get so excited for the weekend I try to get a ton done the day before so I won’t work late on a Friday.

Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?
If you follow my Twitter feed, it’d tell you my top achievements include conquering a super hard meal (Pumpkin Lobster Bisque made from scratch) and finding a dress I’ve wanted forever at a major discount. I guess I’d have to say getting into grad school is my greatest achievement to date. It’s so much work studying for the GMAT, doing all the essays and getting all those applications in on time, but I ended up accepted to my first choice.

Q: Have any “hidden talents”?
I feel like this is a humble brag, but I’m a really good cook. I’d say it’s a hidden talent because up until two years ago, it was a running joke with everyone I knew that I’d burn their kitchen down and give them food poisoning (neither on purpose).

Q: If Brafton were a TV show, which character – from a sitcom, drama or reality show of any era – would represent you?
Well, two Buzzfeed quizzes I took yesterday told me I was Schmidt from The New Girl and Stephanie Tanner from Full House, so I’ll let you be the judge.
