Brafton’s maturing graphic design team has been making headlines with the recent appointment of our first-ever design director Ken Boostrom, and national recognition as a top Infographic Design Agency.

But one Braftonian on the team said she never expected to be involved in graphics when she first started her career in our Boston office.

So how did our graphic production manager, Rachel Seidman, come to find our graphics department was the perfect fit for her skillset?

A former news and content writer on our Lifestyles team, Rachel said she was inspired by her assistant editor, Jill DiLibero, to seek out a role on the graphics team. The attention to detail and strong organizational skills Rachel brought to all projects as a writer was just what was graphics team sought in a production manager.

As Brafton’s graphics production coordinator, Rachel tracks team production, incorporates new policies for smoother workflow and works to ensure overall client satisfaction. Now approaching her three year Braftiversary, Rachel couldn’t be happier with where her career path led her.

“Working with my team, hands down is my favorite aspect of the job,” she said. “It has been so fun getting to know everyone and they are such amazing and talented hard workers.”

Learn more about Rachel in our Brafton Q&A:

Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A sports reporter. My dad was constantly talking about Boston teams with my sister and me (he totally wanted sons), and I loved it.

Q: What do you think is the most important quality you need to have for success?

I have to be organized and constantly multitask, and being a good communicator is definitely essential as well.

Q: What do you value most in a job?

I think it’s really important to work with people who challenge you. I also appreciate being in an environment where you can constantly learn and grow.

Rachel and Ty BUQ: What is your most treasured possession?

I would have to say all of my photos – so many memories!

Q: What personality trait are you always trying to improve?

I always feel as though I can be more patient – take a step back and not let myself get worked up, but rather solve the problem.

Q: Which day of the work week are you the most productive?

Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday are crazy with meetings, so Wednesday is the first day I actually get a lot of stuff done.

Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Running a marathon – I ran one in Pennsylvania in a couple years ago with my best friend and it was awesome and miserable all at the same time.

Q: Have any “hidden talents” ?

I really don’t think so. Any and all talents I have, I make sure people know about them.

Q: If Brafton were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama or reality show (of any time period) – would represent you?

Oh goodness, this question is great. My coworkers Amanda Gross and Jill DiLibero would absolutely say DJ from Full House. Or, I would say Mindy Kaling from The Mindy Project with a little Chandler Bing in the mix. I can’t decide. All of the above!
