Internship Description

An intern at Brafton will be tasked with doing research and writing a number of short 200 word articles, tailored specifically for an online readership. This content will include news about – but not limited to – personal finance, insurance, small business, computer security, technology, travel, real estate, education, the job market, health and automotive.

While working at Brafton, interns will also get hands-on experience in the world of online journalism as we continue to break new ground in the burgeoning industry. In addition to gaining real world writing experience in a number of different industries, Brafton interns will learn how to write in a variety of different styles and voices and gain experience in search engine optimization (SEO) – an emerging trend in the journalism industry.

Qualifications for Application

Students interested in an internship at Brafton should currently be majoring in English, journalism (print or broadcast), PR or advertising and be able to receive credit for their work. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required for applicants and students should be prepared to work an average of 20 hours per week over the course of the semester.

Basic computer skills and a strong background in internet research are required for the position. A background in journalistic writing an AP style is encouraged. Students with experience using programs such as Google Docs are encouraged to apply. Foreign language skills are also helpful.
