New Years resolutions aren’t about coming up with some new self-improvement schemes. They’re about finally committing to the things you say you want to do but always put off for further down the road. Click on the video or scroll down to read a transcript below.

They don’t just apply to losing a couple pounds or starting that savings account. They can also help you make a difference for your brand. So if you’re looking for a content marketing resolution that doesn’t involve content, here are four you can have for free.

1. Start implementing schema markup

One-third of all search results draw from schema markup – so what are you waiting for? It’s time to finally talk to a webmaster and take advantage of this feature.

2. Get Analytics certified

You don’t have to manage your brand’s entire marketing strategy, especially if you have a webmaster in charge. But the simple process of taking Google’s free Analytics courses can give you incredible insights into how customers see your site.

3. Pick a new marketing channel

Have you been paying attention to recent social developments? The male population on Pinterest is increasing, Instagram is a brand engagement superstar and Tumblr is the fastest-growing network. If you’ve had your eye on a new channel, 2015 might be the time to actually get started.

4. Go through with a site redesign

One of the fastest ways to improve engagement with a marketing site and usher users down the sales funnel is to redesign your website. Unfortunately, it’s a can that usually gets kicked down the road. But as you’re planning your entire year, you might find that all the other projects you have lined up will be easier to execute with a brand new, more effective site.

If you don’t think any of these resolutions apply, sit down and make a list of all the things you’ve put off in the past. Maybe it’s time to get serious about video marketing. Or perhaps you want to finally outsource content production. Either way, stay strong with your resolutions … even if they just entail losing five pounds. I’m Alex Butzbach – thanks for watching.
