Blekko, the human-curated search engine, is working to boost discoverability for brands that produce high-quality content by partnering with Flipboard for RSS search. The search company announced its partnership with the social content aggregator today.

The company has developed an API for Flipboard to bring RSS feeds to its readers. Blekko says this is part of its effort to weed spam out of search results and promote high-quality, searchable content. It hopes the partnership will bring Flipboard users “the absolute best sources of content via RSS feeds on any topic.”

For marketers (across industries), this is just one of many recent reminders that SEO efforts must be paired with high-caliber, valuable content to promote search visibility. As Brafton reported, Google recently offered marketers an SEO tip: Quite simply, focus on content – not the algorithms.

The Blekko development demonstrates the importance of sharing rich site content across myriad platforms – including social media and RSS feeds – for maximum search visibility. Google's Matt Cutts has said that social sharing is key to boosting SEO.
