Facebook announced the availability of its iPad application last week after making users wait for some time.

Social media giant Facebook announced the availability of its application for Apple’s wildly popular iPad tablet. On its company blog, Facebook software engineer Leon Dubinsky reported that the application provides users full access to their Facebook accounts without needing to navigate to the Facebook website, and this may mean more exposure for businesses that share content on the platform.

While Facebook has applications available for most mobile devices, its iPad application could be an especially important step for social media marketing campaigns.

Brafton reported on Wednesday that a new PayPal study found that tablet users are more likely to spend money on the web than those without the devices. Moreover, the amounts they spend are often higher.

Well placed social media content on Facebook could help marketers boost web conversions. With the social network now available as an app, users will likely spend more time on it since they can get to their News Feeds with the tap of an icon.
