Search giant Google added another feature to complement both its search and social media platforms with the implementation of the +1 button on Google Image Search. The announcement came on its Inside Search Blog and said that the addition will come immediately.

For marketers planning to use Google+ for their social media marketing campaigns, the expanded +1 will allow searchers who see their photos to share their content with followers.

Implementing visual content has myriad benefits, with the Google+ addition only the latest. In general, it bolsters websites with greater content.

Google rolled out Google+ Pages earlier this week as its service for businesses and other organizations to use for social media marketing and overall engagement improvements. Providing people with more opportunities to share content will only increase the overall appeal of the service for both users and companies.

The most recent figures from Google said that the platform now has more than 40 million users, Brafton reported. While some have questioned the potential of the network, the willingness of organizations, such as Pepsi, the Dallas Cowboys and the All American Rejects, demonstrates the value some see in it.
