It’s no secret that the auto industry is struggling during the recession, but in order to help make itself more visible to those still looking to buy vehicles, one Massachusetts car dealer is turning to search engine optimization (SEO).

Stoneham Ford, an auto dealer in the Boston area teamed with to The Pasch Consulting Group (PCG) to create an online marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) strategy for the company which it says will create a Google search compliant page for every Ford vehicle available at the dealer.

PCG says that through the use of a WordPress microsite, it will help the auto dealer reach the number one listing for specific keywords and give Stoneham Ford a leg up over other dealers in the region.

The auto industry is just one of a number of sectors turning to search engine optimization as a way of increasing traffic as the online landscape becomes more crowded.

Recently a number of Holiday Inn hotels have turned to search engine optimization (SEO) to increase traffic among tourists and in a recent piece for OhMyGov.com, Alex Pinto says .gov sites should incorporate SEO and engaging content to increase visits.
