Highlighting the growing role smartphones and tablets are playing in marketing strategies, Mobile Marketing Max recently launched an innovative new approach to mobile marketing.

Mobile Marketing Max, a North Carolina-based mobile marketing agency, announced that it will host an art show at the LIFESPAN Arts studio in Charlotte. However, rather than stand around and quietly look at the works of art, visitors will also have the opportunity to interact with the show through their mobile devices.

According to Mobile Marketing Max, smartphone users will be able to access information about each work of art through quick response codes situated next to each piece. By scanning the codes, the smartphone will pull up information about the works and artists' websites, allowing attendees to access more information about pieces that catch the eye.

“Using mobile technology to reach, engage and interact with consumers is immensely powerful,” said Mobile Marketing Max founder Fran Jeanes. “Many small businesses don’t realize that marketing via mobile means they can now have the look of a Fortune 500 company but within their budget. The marketing playing field has been leveled.”

Businesses are still exploring the myriad ways mobile devices can expand their marketing strategies. At the recent CommunicAsia trade show, TNS Singapore consumer insights director Nic Hall asserted that the technology can also be used to build word-of-mouth campaigns.
