Users of Apple’s iPhone who are somehow bored and out of ideas for things to do could turn to Goby’s new app for suggestions: The program collects location-relevant activities and displays them to the user.

Mobility news blog Into Mobile writes that “the service has over four million unique things to do across 350 categories, ranging from local festivals and events to hiking trails, beaches, restaurants, theaters and even playgrounds.” The blog also notes that the service covers every municipality in the U.S., and includes a high level of detail about the activities that it suggests to users.

Goby CEO Mark Watkins told news site MobileTor that “we created Goby to help people find the things they want to do and inspire them to try new experiences. This app gives them the power to spontaneously find fun, anytime, anywhere and share it with their friends.”

The increasing importance of the mobile search engine optimization (SEO) is due in part to the increasing adoption rate for smartphones fueled by powerful new apps like Goby, experts say.
