Business Insider reports that the social question-and-answer site Quora has added a new member to its product management team – former Facebook worker Sandra Liu Huang.

The Q&A site confirmed to the news source that Huang will lead the company's product development team. Business Insider reports that she most recently worked on Instant Personalization at Facebook – a product used by major sites, including Yelp and Pandora, to integrate data about visitors' friends. Prior to working with Facebook, Huang worked for Google.

The news source suggests Facebook will want to keep a close eye on its staff members to avoid losing them to competition, but marketers may want to keep an eye on Quora to see what new products it will offer under Huang's leadership. Brafton reported just last month that activity on the Q&A site was on the rise, as it gained a significant number of new members at the start of the new year.

Marketers might consider taking on some questions that Quora users pose to establish their brands as thought leaders. Additionally, businesses might consider offering a Quora-themed social plugin to their sites to catch mentions from the company's growing user base if Huang develops a Quora plugin.

As Brafton has reported, social plugins are proven to lift traffic to websites.
