There is a huge market for adventure seekers looking to explore the great outdoors while also having a bit of excitement, and one California company is expecting search engine optimization (SEO) to increase traffic for people looking for kayaks.

Carlsbad Paddle Sports, an Oceanside, California-based company which specializes in the sale and rental of kayaks along with lessons for people looking to get into the sport, has begun using a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy to increase online traffic and potential sales leads.

The use of search engine optimization (SEO) in the world of sports isn’t limited to companies looking to sell or rent sports equipment.

Earlier this year, Atlanta Spirit, the parent company which own’s the NBA’s Hawks, NHL’s Thrashers and the Philips Arena, signed on to use search engine optimization (SEO) in the hope of converting searches into ticket sales for games and other events at the Arena.

Similarly, the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys began increasing its use of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) in the last year in an attempt to boost merchandise sales.
