Just last week Brafton reported that Apple had unveiled iAd Producer to attract new iAd partners. Now, reports that the company has upped the ante with iPhone shipments for Q1 2011 have led many to believe that ads on Apple's mobile phones could have a broader reach than ever before – perhaps among Verizon users.

DigiTimes.com reports that Tawain-based component suppliers for Apple claim that the company has adjusted its Q1 shipment goal of WCDMA iPhones from 13 million units to 14 to 15 million units. Apple will also ship an additional 5 million to 6 million CDMA iPhone units in North America and Asia Pacific.

The online community is buzzing about how the nearly 21 million units may be intended to reach Verizon users. Google Realtime results at press time demonstrate that news sources, tech enthusiasts and – importantly – consumers are tweeting about this possible development in 2011 minute by minute.

Mobile marketers might take this as a sign that the iPhone, currently second in the market by comScore's measure, may stand to gain a new audience among Verizon users. In addition to iAds, those looking to catch clicks from on-the-go iPhone users (and all mobile consumers) should invest in mobile content.

As Brafton reported, the results of a Harris Interactive survey indicate that smartphone users are influenced by the local information they find on the mobile web. Plus, two-thirds of consumers are more likely to turn to their mobile devices than traditional desktops to ask timely questions.
