Facebook's mobile app has added 425 million users in the last years, and the company expects growth to continue.

On its official developer blog, Facebook reported that 425 million people use its mobile app monthly. That figure represents major growth since Facebook released a fully-capable mobile version of its website last year. As both Facebook and mobile technology continue to attract new users, it’s likely that the company’s smartphone app will count even more users.

Social media marketing campaigns stand to benefit heavily from increased mobile use. Consumers and B2B buyers turn to their handsets frequently, and seeing content from businesses they have Liked on Facebook will help increase the exposure.

Other target audiences are also swayed heavily by social media marketing content. Moreover, the Facebook mobile app brings greater capability than visiting the website on a smartphone’s browser. As such, users can enjoy all benefits of their Facebook experience, including visual content and video.

Brafton recently reported that mobile devices are expected to become primary web access points for millions of Americans. For businesses, social media marketing is a good way to ensure that their website content is viewed by on-the-go prospects.
