A report from BrightEdge found that Google+ has seen rapid growth in the last month, generating more than 1,400 percent more followers for brand pages.

BrightEdge recently reported that businesses using Google+ marketing have experienced substantial fan growth in the last month. The company noted that 1,400 percent more users are now fans of businesses’ Google+ Pages compared to last month.

Despite this increased growth, many businesses have still not integrated Google+ into their social media marketing strategies. BrightEdge found that many of the leading global brands are among those still without a presence on the platform.

Naturally, Google’s competitors, such as Microsoft and Apple, are among those without a page. However, Goldman Sachs was a business BrightEdge pointed to as a “notable laggard.”

The study showed that businesses, such as H&M, Samsung and Pepsi, have all seen rapid growth in their follower totals in the last month. The data might encourage more marketers to share content across the search giant’s social site.

Brafton recently reported that Google+ has been a boon for content marketing in terms of engagement and sharing. In December 2011, the +1 button generated more than 2.7 billion clicks throughout the web.
