With a background in writing and digital marketing, Mike Bratschi’s got the skills to excel in today’s web landscape – and he has seamlessly transitioned through a couple of Brafton departments. He started his career here as a news and content writer in Boston, but managing clients’ content campaigns is where he found his true sweet spot.

During his time on our editorial floor, Mike volunteered to work on an internal communications project alongside Vice President of Account Management Sarah Cugini. That decision to volunteer changed his Brafton fate, and gave Mike the confidence to apply for a role as a content marketing strategist.

“I knew that it was only a matter of time before I’d join the account management team – an opportunity just had to present itself,” he explained.

Not only did Mike’s career at Brafton take a major turn once he became a content marketing strategist, but it paved the way for a bigger life change. In February 2012, Mike packed his bags to set forth for our Chicago office. Since moving to the Windy City, he has been promoted to Content Marketing Manager, built out a successful team of strategists and played an integral role in launching the office’s Fun Committee.

“Mike’s extensive SEM, web design and business knowledge base, hands-off management approach and easy-going demeanor helps empower the Chicago CMS team to create unique and effective strategies while building solid client relationships,” Senior Strategist Hollie Farrahi said. “He creates a laugh-filled and collaborative environment that makes for a positive Brafton experience.”

Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Captain of a ship

Q: What do you think is the most important quality you need to have for success?

A positive attitude. Success is subjective, and if you are happy with what you’re doing regardless of what it is, then consider yourself a successful human being.

Q: What do you value most in a job?

To be given the chance to learn – learning more about the industry that I work in, learning more about myself, and learning more about the people that I work with.

What’s your most valued possession?

My memory foam mattress. I love to sleep!

Q: What personality trait are you always trying to improve?

I can always be more empathic.

Q: Which day of the work week are you the most productive?

Wednesday hump day!

Q: What’s your favorite aspect of your job?

Every day is a different day. Plus I work with a bunch of creative and eccentric people, so that’s also enjoyable.

Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Surviving this Chicago winter! I mean seriously.

Q:  Have any “hidden talents” ?

I can open a beer bottle with my teeth. Gross, I know, but very useful in some situations. I do still have all of my teeth, just an FYI.

Q: If Brafton were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama or reality show (of any time period) – would represent you?

According to Buzzfeed’s “Which Game of Thrones character are you?” quiz, I am the Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen. So Brafton is Westeros and I get to have dragons?
