Have you ever met someone who radiates creativity, intelligence and passion? Someone whose energy is contagious and whose work leaves you in awe? That’s Ashlee Sierra, a bold and brilliant creative force to be reckoned with.

Ashlee’s journey at Brafton began in 2021 — she quickly climbed the ranks from a content writer to a senior content writer in just one year. Her ability to write rapidly and maintain high quality is a rare talent that has helped her stand out. Her love for writing has spilt over into her personal life, where she has published various creative works for young adults and middle-grade readers.

One of Ashlee’s most impressive accomplishments is her creation of two choose-your-own-adventure stories published as apps. These interactive stories required Ashlee to write over 300,000 words, and the project took her a summer to complete. Her dedication to the craft of writing is truly inspiring. Actually, it’s so inspiring that we’re going to (briefly) try it out ourselves.

Section 1: Ashlee’s Writing Journey and Advice

You gather your courage and approach Ashlee. She looks up, meets your gaze and smiles warmly.

“Hi there, I’m Ashlee,” she says.

You introduce yourself and express your admiration for her work. Then you ask, “How did you get started with writing?”

Ashlee leans back in her chair and takes a sip of her coffee. “I’ve been a content writer since 2015 but even before that, I wrote creatively. Before I could hold a pen I was telling stories into a tape recorder, so it’s been my thing for a very long time.”

You nod, impressed. “What advice do you have for aspiring writers?”

Ashlee smiles. “I have a degree in creative writing, but I think real-world experience is the most valuable. And as for how to get yourself in a creative mindset, some people find that going outside helps, but for me, figuring out what kind of music to play in the background is key.”

Feeling inspired, you thank Ashlee for her time and head back to your table.

Section 2: The Joy of Writing

You walk up to Ashlee and introduce yourself. She looks up from her laptop and smiles.

“Hi, I’m Ashlee. What brings you here today?”

You explain that you were curious to know what Ashlee enjoys most about writing.

Ashlee’s eyes light up. “My absolute favorite part about writing is the ability to change the tone of voice. In my previous work, I often found myself in a groove where I was producing a lot of similar content, and it could get monotonous. But at Brafton, the constantly changing topics and clients keep me on my toes and prevent me from ever getting bored.”

You nod along in agreement, and Ashlee continues.

“I love being able to switch from writing about a dry software topic to something more fun and exciting or adjusting the client’s voice to make it more engaging. It allows me to experiment with different styles and really explore the full range of my writing abilities.”

Feeling a connection with Ashlee’s passion for writing, you chat for a few more minutes about the joys of the craft before wishing her a good day and returning to your own work.

Section 3: Ashlee’s Love for Animals

You approach Ashlee and strike up a conversation. After a few minutes of small talk, you ask, “Is there anything you love more than writing?”

Ashlee laughs. “Well, I love animals. I grew up in Idaho, surrounded by farmland. There were horses, chickens, ducks, a turkey… “

You laugh, thinking to yourself that you’ve never heard someone rattle off a list of animals like it was nothing.

“Guinea pigs, bunnies and of course dogs,” Ashlee continues.

You’re starting to get a little nervous because you’re wondering how long this list is going to go, but Ashlee has already finished. “I don’t know if other places are as animal-focused as Boise, Idaho.”

She pauses for a moment, then adds cheerfully, “For me, growing up with the animals made me realize I always want them to be a part of my life. No matter where I live, I know they’re always going to be there.” You can’t help but smile at Ashlee’s excitement. You can also tell she means every word.

Section 4: Ashlee’s Secret Talent Revealed

You take a deep breath and walk up to Ashlee. “Excuse me, I’m a big fan of your work. I want to get to know you more. Can you show me your secret talent?”

Ashlee looks taken aback for a moment, but then a mischievous smile spreads across her face. “Okay, but you have to promise not to tell anyone.”

She reaches into her bag and pulls out a hat … and puts it on. You realize it’s not just any hat. It’s a fedora, like the one Michael Jackson wore!

You’re confused, and you don’t know where this is going.

Ashlee jumps up from her seat. She starts doing the iconic dance routine from the Thriller music video, complete with the zombie walk and the iconic “claw” move.

You watch in awe as Ashlee performs the dance flawlessly, almost as if she’s done it a million times before. She finishes with a dramatic spin, and the café erupts in applause.

“That was amazing!” you exclaim.

“Thanks!” Ashlee replies. “I have to go soon though. I’m meeting up with a flash mob group to practice for a performance we’re doing this weekend.”
