With search engines increasingly focusing on local search, Elysium Internet announced earlier today that it would be launching a new professional search engine on May 27.
Elysium, a specialist firm in the local advertisement and publishing space, allows users to search for local professionals, like doctors, lawyers, and contractors. The site, TheDirectory.com, will be ad-free, with no fees charged to the user.
The focus, said Elysium founder and CEO Scott Gallagher, is to provide the user with an accessible search engine without cluttering it.
"By focusing exclusively on the user experience we believe TheDirectory.com will become the preferred online destination to quickly access accurate information about local professionals," said Gallagher. "We don’t charge users a fee to search for local doctors, lawyers and contractors and we don’t bombard the site with irrelevant ads."
With the launch of TheDirectory, the local search engine optimization (SEO) sector gets a more competitive – last month, local medical search engine Healthline announced several new features designed to enhance the end user’s experience.
