Business that employ search engine optimization (SEO) can enjoy a high ranking on Google searches, which is something a Maine innkeeper recently discovered can translate to more sales.

Since last March, Su Wetzel had noticed her business, the Inn at Tanglewood Hall, was being listed in the wrong location when users searched through Google for a local destination in the town of York, reports. Instead, her inn was shown to be located 20 miles north of its actual location and closer to Kennebunkport.

In fact, the problem was happening to all the York bed-and-breakfast businesses in Google.

However on May 13, Wetzel reported that after various email requests, Google fixed the problem and since then the innkeeper said the sales have been "insane," according to the article.

"I don’t know if it’s coincidental," she told the news provider. "It’s really, really a good thing. It was looking pretty dismal."
