Emily's discussing Brafton's new social media marketing services in our latest employee spotlight.

There’s a misconception in social media marketing that having a brand page and posting occasionally is a “strategy.” It’s the reason why the average company uses about six social networks – but most are unsure if they’re having much success.

Strategists like Emily Joria are proving social media can clearly provide ROI. Emily’s coming up on her one-year anniversary with Brafton’s social media department – and when she’s not coming up with engaging content for her clients in the retail space, she’s been instrumental in spearheading Brafton’s new social media offerings.

Through Sprout Social and Google Analytics, Emily creates unique client reports that detail how the social media strategies trace back to clients goals. Each report she develops is customized to tell the story of the specific strategy.

“Showing metrics like the amount of time people spend on their site when they are directed from social is very powerful,” Emily said. “That’s a great way of showing exactly the kind of impact our work has on driving traffic to the website.”

Emily’s favorite part of our new offerings? The additional flexibility when building a strategy.

“If a client utilizes two networks, but wants to focus heavily on one, we have the flexibility to put more of our time into that part of the strategy.”

Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A dolphin trainer. That was until I discovered that you actually have to have a strong background in science (which I don’t).

Q: What is your most treasured possession?

I still have a blanket that was given to me the day I was born that was handmade by a good friend of my parents. It’s still in pretty good shape, too, considering how old it is.

Q: Which day of the work week are you the most productive?

Definitely Friday because I know that if I can make it through that day, I get a few days off to relax.

Q: What’s your favorite social network – personally? What’s your favorite social network when you’re posting for clients?

LtBlue_Social_InstagramLtBlue_Social_PinterestMy personal favorite is Instagram. People take so many pictures these days, but Instagram is the place where they seem to post the one that means the most to them, so it’s cool to see those highlights from others’ lives. As far as posting for clients, I think Pinterest would be my favorite. It allows us to have a little extra fun with their account and really get creative.

Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Probably moving away from home because I’m very much a homebody. I’m from Chicago, but I went to school in Wisconsin, lived in Orlando for a few months working at Walt Disney World, and am now living in Massachusetts. Each move has been pretty difficult, but has definitely allowed me to grow quite a bit.

Q: Have any “hidden talents”?

I’m not sure if this counts as hidden, but I did improv/sketch comedy for eight years. Trust me when I say that improv is much harder than it looks.

singing animated GIF Q: If Brafton were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama or reality show (of any time period) – would represent you?

As sad as it is, I’m probably the most like George Michael from Arrested Development. I’m very much a ‘follow the rules’ person, and even if I try to rebel I usually fail miserably at it.
