As more people turn to social media, social search engine optimization (SEO) has become more popular topic among industry experts. Now, a new search engine has been created that allows users to find out what people are talking about on Facebook.

Called Booshaka, the new search engine allows users to search specific queries. According to the Internet Search Engine Database, results are retrieved based on what people are talking about in their Facebook status updates, as well as the links posted on the site. Booshaka also lists popular and fun topics, like Obama or Iron Man 2.

Booshaka could be used by marketers to check out what people are talking about, suggests the source. For example, marketers could type in the name of their company or product, and see how people feel about them.

At the annual Facebook developers conference last month, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke about the company’s plan to change the internet into a more social place, rather than one based around links and keywords. Facebook also unveiled a new set of social indexing features, including a "like" button, at the conference, which could be used for search engine optimization (SEO) in the future.
