The study analyzed figures generated by AddThis’ social sharing buttons placed on websites. The tool includes most major social networks, content aggregators and other services that encourage users to share content with their friends, followers or other contacts.
Additionally, AddThis found that 75 percent of sharing will take place within 24 hours. Moreover, the two minutes following the initial social share are the most popular time for others to spread the content to their own contacts.
